What it does
Microsoft Learn documents the Conditional Access Optimization Agent as a Security Copilot agent in Microsoft Entra that can run automatically every 24 hours (activity-based runs are in preview), scans for new users, applications and agent identities, and checks them against Conditional Access best practice: MFA, device-based controls, blocking legacy authentication and device-code flow. It proposes new policies, suggests consolidating similar policies, and can update the associated policy through one-click remediation by an authorised administrator; settings let it create policies in report-only mode, send Teams notifications and build phased rollout plans; policy review reports and a ServiceNow integration are in preview. Documented limits include up to 300 users and 150 applications per run and no way to stop a run once started. It requires at least Microsoft Entra ID P1 and Security Copilot security compute units (SCUs). Microsoft's privacy statement gives Microsoft Corporation's address in Redmond, Washington.
