What it does

Sonar’s AI CodeFix uses a large language model to propose edits for a select set of rules in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, HTML, CSS, C# and C++. SonarQube Cloud docs state it is available on Team and Enterprise plans and can use Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4 (recommended) or OpenAI GPT-5.1; Server docs (2026.5) describe Enterprise and Data Center editions, with optional Sonar-hosted or customer-hosted LLMs. An instance/project admin must enable it. Suggestions are generated on request (Generate AI Fix) and can be applied in connected-mode IDEs. AI CodeFix is on-request fix suggestions inside SonarQube; the Remediation Agent opens verified pull requests. Neither is a standalone AppSec agent platform. SonarSource Sàrl’s official contact page lists headquarters in Geneva/Vernier, Switzerland. Sonar's blog (1 Oct 2026) says the SonarQube Remediation Agent is now available on SonarQube Server (2026.5 LTA) Enterprise and Data Center editions, billed on suggestion consumption: pointed at the issues backlog (on demand or on a daily/weekly schedule), it generates a fix, applies it in a sandbox, re-runs the same Sonar analysis and discards the fix if the issue is not cleared or a new one appears, then opens a pull request grouped by rule for developers to review; it works with GitHub, GitLab and Azure DevOps for C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript and Python, and runs inside self-managed infrastructure with the customer's chosen model endpoint. Verification does not run the customer's test suite.
