What it does
BILL launched BILL AI agents on October 28, 2025 as part of its push toward 'touchless' B2B transactions for small and midsize businesses. The W-9 Agent contacts vendors to request W-9 forms, follows up, collects and organizes the forms, validates names and taxpayer identification numbers, flags mismatches and updates vendor information; the customer's team still reviews and approves the final information. BILL says it removes more than 80% of the steps in W-9 collection, which feeds 1099 tax reporting. The Reconciliation Agent handles receipts so that they reconcile and code themselves, and BILL describes further agentic onboarding and assistant features. BILL's product page defines its agents as digital coworkers that plan actions, use tools or APIs, operate independently and escalate when appropriate. Efficiency figures are vendor claims. BILL plan pricing is published on its site, but no separate price for the agents is published. On 19 Oct 2026 BILL announced more agentic capabilities, rolling out to customers that day. Risk intelligence checks invoices before a payment is scheduled and flags any that deviate from a vendor's billing history. An AI control hub shows the actions BILL AI has taken and lets teams switch AI tools on or off. BILL also added an external MCP server for connecting AI assistants to BILL data, AI-assisted onboarding (users review changes before they apply) and inbox labelling of incoming invoices and W-9s. A broader 'Chat with BILL' is in beta with a waitlist. Savings figures in the release are vendor claims.
