What it does

Kompass is Düsseldorf startup Steuerboard's product for tax firms. Per its Oct 14, 2026 launch release, agents, chat, skills and a per-client memory run in one place directly on the firm's DATEV data. Agents 'check bookkeeping, calculate, write and collect missing receipts from the client'. In Steuerboard's example, every Monday at 8 a.m. an agent checks a client's postings, finds three without receipts, emails the client asking for them, matches the documents when they arrive and hands everything to DATEV after the firm approves. Skills cover bookkeeping, annual accounts, BWA (monthly management reports) and client meetings. Steuerboard builds and tests them with tax advisers, and firms can add their own. Kompass connects to all DATEV interfaces and the German commercial register, with Outlook and publishers to follow and MCP for in-house systems. It reads everything but writes only after the firm approves. Steuerboard says it complies with § 203 StGB and § 62a StBerG (professional secrecy), is ISO 27001 certified and hosts data in Germany, and that over 100 firms use Steuerboard. Pricing is public: EUR 449 per month billed monthly or EUR 359 per month billed annually, each including 3 seats, with extra seats at EUR 149 or EUR 119, all excluding VAT.
